Emma Bewley joins Connection Capital to build up funds business
12 October 2015
Connection Capital has appointed former fund of hedge fund manager and adviser Emma Bewley as its new Head of Funds.
In her new role, Emma will focus on building up Connection Capital’s existing funds business and helping to open up new investment opportunities across a wider fund horizon.
Emma was formerly Portfolio Manager at Pamplona Capital Management, where she played a key role in developing their fund of hedge funds business before becoming an independent consultant to the hedge fund industry, advising on a range of issues from due diligence to research and analysis. Earlier in her career she was a corporate credit analyst at Morgan Stanley.
Connection Capital’s fund investment strategy focusses on smaller, non-mainstream - yet still top-performing - alternative asset funds, such as those targeting niche markets, emerging asset opportunities, and/or uncorrelated returns which are typically only open to institutional investors.
Investments to date include private equity liquidity funding, mezzanine debt funds, venture funds, small cap funds, property debt funds and commercial litigation funds.
In addition to its selection of fund investments, Connection Capital also offers private investor clients direct access to a choice of private equity and commercial property deals, which are sourced, evaluated and managed on investors’ behalf.
Claire Madden, Founding Partner of Connection Capital comments,
“We are delighted to have Emma on board to run our growing funds business. Her expertise both as a senior fund of hedge fund manager and adviser, and her background in corporate credit and investment banking, mean she is excellently-placed to help us take our funds offering from strength to strength.”
