Connection Capital backs experienced and ambitious management teams with flexible capital in order to help them realise their business growth plans. Alongside the finance we provide comes experience, courage, insight and our contacts to help improve the performance and value of the businesses we support, as much as we possibly can.
Our investment criteria are simple:
Profitable, UK based businesses with £1m+ EBITDA
Growth capital, management buyouts and replacement capital
Equity requirement of £3m to £10m
Prior to completing an investment we run a thorough, insightful investigation and due diligence process with the goal that management are provided with useful information they can apply going forward.
The strength of our connections
Raising capital from our well connected and experienced clients results in a highly supportive, patient shareholder base capable of providing introductions and advice to businesses we back, either in a Non Executive Director capacity or in a more informal manner. Management teams will only deal direct with Connection Capital though, both before and after investment. We manage the entire syndicate of investors at all times.
Our funding model means we operate in an open manner. We share all goals, ambitions and expected returns for each investment with our management teams. This openness extends to co-operation between companies with contact between business encouraged so best practice can be shared. This has proved invaluable at times, for example, during the Covid-19 pandemic knowledge was shared quickly and effectively between investee management teams to enable them to make decisions after consulting with peers in the Connection Capital portfolio.
Our fund raising model may be different to the market norm, but it works extremely well, with over £320m invested to date and a 100% track record of raising finance.
We also have a track record of regularly providing follow on investment rounds to companies with approaching 50% of the portfolio having received follow on funding from us, with the terms matched to suit the company’s needs not the requirements of rigid fund criteria.
