What is litigation funding?

Litigation funding explained

Looking to invest?

Litigation funding is the provision of funds to enable claimants to pursue litigation or arbitration cases in exchange for a share of any compensation awarded by a court or as a result of a pre-court settlement.

Over recent years litigation funding, or litigation finance, has emerged as an alternative asset class due to the potential high investment returns available and the lack of correlation with other investment assets or strategies.

Access to investing in litigation cases has historically been limited to institutional investors, family offices, private equity firms and hedge funds.

However, Connection Capital have provided private clients with access to litigation funding vehicles, managed by leading litigation fund manager Therium Capital Management, since 2013. During this period our clients have committed over £30m targeting a net return of around 2x money invested.
