What are alternative assets?

'Alternative assets' explained

Looking to invest?

Alternative assets, also known as alternative investments, are those which cannot be classified as equities (stocks and shares in public companies), bonds or cash.

This includes investments in private equity (shares in unlisted companies), loans to private companies, investing in residential and commercial property, venture capital, commodities, investing in hedge funds or funds operating niche strategies, such as litigation funding, all the way through to investing in classic cars, whiskey and art.

Alternative assets tend to have low correlation with traditional asset classes and the main investment markets. This means investors can use them to target differentiated returns and enhance portfolio diversification, which can reduce overall portfolio volatility.

At Connection Capital we provide access to unique and hard to find alternative investments for UK private investors.  We specialise in uk private equity (focusing on the lower-mid market), private debt, commercial property and alternative funds.
