Connection Capital has appointed Sam Kemp as Chief Executive Officer and Partner, a newly created role that will support the firm’s continued growth and development as demand for private market investments continues to expand. Sam will lead the day-to-day management of the business and work with the leadership team to drive the firm’s next phase of growth.

Sam brings extensive experience across banking, venture building and asset management. A graduate of the University of Nottingham, he also holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth. He began his career in banking at Rothschild & Co before moving to Barclays, where he focused on funding high-growth technology businesses.

He later joined Blenheim Chalcot, one of the UK’s leading venture builders, serving as a Managing Director before becoming Chief Executive Officer of BCI Capital, an Asset Manager established to launch and manage credit strategies. During his tenure leading BCI Capital from 2017 to 2025, Sam delivered consistently strong double-digit net returns for investors, built and managed a high-performing team, and successfully navigated the volatility of the Covid period while operating within a regulated framework. He also expanded and diversified the investor base, growing relationships with high-net-worth and family office clients.

“We are delighted to welcome Sam to the team at an exciting time for the business. There is an ever-increasing awareness that private market investments should be included in private client portfolios - Sam’s experience will help us to build on our client offering across both funds and single asset deals.”

Claire Madden, Co-Founder and Managing Partner, said: “We are delighted to welcome Sam to the team at an exciting time for the business. There is an ever-increasing awareness that private market investments should be included in private client portfolios - Sam’s experience will help us to build on our client offering across both funds and single asset deals.”

Sam Kemp said: “As a former Fund Manager, I’ve seen first-hand the challenges of matching sophisticated investors with high-performing but niche opportunities. I have long been an admirer of the role Connection Capital plays in unlocking these hard-to-access private market allocations.

The foundation here—built on trust and rigorous curation across private debt, private equity, and specialist funds—is incredibly strong. I’m thrilled to join the team and look forward to building on this legacy, ensuring our investors continue to access the very best the private markets have to offer.”

Sam’s appointment reflects Connection Capital’s continued focus on strengthening its leadership team as the firm expands its platform and broadens access to private markets opportunities for its professional investors.
