Private investors commit to private equity investment fund focused on lower middle market in North America and Europe, TriSpan Opportunities Fund.
Members of Connection Capital's syndicate, the specialist private client investment business, have invested in the TriSpan Opportunities Fund. This private equity buyout fund is building a portfolio of private companies in the lower middle market in Europe and North America.
The fund has a sector agnostic investment strategy but favours businesses which have multiple growth opportunities, attractive entry valuations and can demonstrate significant downside protection. At the time of investment the fund had already invested in four companies: Woolpert, PG Dental Holdings, Sk:n and CentriLogic, all of which met this criteria. The fund targets opportunities which are likely to achieve a gross multiple of invested capital over the life of the investment of 2.0 - 3.0x and a gross IRR of 20% to 30% on equity.
The TriSpan team has a long and successful history of private equity investments. The firm was founded by Fady Michel Abouchalache and Elan Schultz who worked together at Quilvest Equity, leading the private equity arm.
Although the usual minimum investment in the fund is $1m, Connection Capital's private client investors were able to invest in multiples of £25,000.
