Award-winning, B Corp-certified, outsourced provider of bespoke and sustainable corporate clothing.
The company
Established in 1981, Jermyn Street Design ('JSD') is a UK-based custom uniform provider. It designs workwear solutions and manages the end-to-end lifecycle of garments for its blue-chip customers, which include.Jet2.com, Laing O’Rourke, Chanel, PureGym, Butlins, First Group, and Intercontinental Hotels Group. Its designs are worn by over 200,000 employees across 85 countries.
Given complex logistical requirements (e.g. globally dispersed workforce, sustainability targets, guarantee of stock, regular replenishment) and the need for bespoke designs, JSD becomes embedded in a customer’s operations through its provision of value-added solutions.
It has an excellent reputation for providing quality products and service to its international customers base, a focus on sustainability, and is led by a driven and experienced management team.
Our investment rationale
Due to the nature of the business, JSD has attractive long-term relationships with its customers and, as a result, good visibility on forecast revenue. In recent years, under CEO Ann Dowdeswell's leadership, JSD has seen an acceleration in new customer wins and there is a growing pipeline of opportunities in both existing and new sectors for the business to build on.
The transaction
The transaction was structured to buy out shareholders, including the original founder, who are no longer involved in the day-to-day business and to back the incumbent management team.
Jermyn Street Design is a great British business. We are excited to build on the company’s excellent reputation and market position and support management in buying out the Founder to deliver on the exciting growth opportunities ahead.
